Jeff Jones asked if there were any unpaid dues and the following departments were reported as delinquent: Hazc= o, Locust, Sadler, Sherwood Shores, Tioga, Gordonville, Collinsville and Grays= on County Airport. Jason discussed available products and distributed literature from Amkus and various other vendors. M= embers had no questions. <o:p>&n= bsp;</o:p> Committ= ee Reports: Assistanc= e to Firefighters Grant &= nbsp; &nbs= p; &= nbsp; Donna Glenn reported there had been no news. The regional grant was still being considered by FEMA. She advised the group to be able to resubmit for next y= ear, departments need to start collecting demographic and run detail. The members discussed methods of order for the tenders, East/West, North/South to ensure resources are adequately distributed. No formal division was created, rather members agreed the IC will call the most appropriate for their location. <o:p>&n= bsp;</o:p> &= nbsp; &nbs= p; &= nbsp; Alarm Pages &= nbsp; &nbs= p; &= nbsp; Benny McKee discussed updating the alarm pages. He reported he did not have Denis= on or Bells. Copies were distributed for members to review and return. He mentioned in reference to some of the issues with the County dispatch and emphasized the accuracy of the alarm pages was essential, then he would fol= low up with dispatch. Members asked about the possibility of getting the alarm pages posted on the website in a read only view for ease of access to all. He reported approximately 50 acres burned. &= nbsp; &nbs= p; &= nbsp; &= nbsp; &nbs= p; &= nbsp; Jeff Jones reported he had met with the County Emergency Manager today, and she = had advised that if the Association wanted to request a Burn Ban, that she need= ed an email tonight to ensure the item was placed on the agenda for considerat= ion. Members discussed the pros and cons of the burn ban and previous experience when the ban was requested. After considerable discussion, members recommen= ded a ban be placed on the agenda for the County Commissioners consideration. R= ob Crow will contact the County Emergency Manager to accomplish. <o:p>&n= bsp;</o:p> &= nbsp; &nbs= p; &= nbsp; Benny McKee brought up the ongoing communications issues. Members reflected on discussions from the last meeting by the Judge and County Emergency Manager= and the County’s priorities. Specifically, the fact that the departments = can be dispatched is a priority and the other issues will have to be addressed = at a later date. Rob Crow reported he had been told a repeater in the Gordonville area was being moved to the Whitewright area. Members were not aware of the planned move and were concerned other problems may be created. After much discussion, the members agreed to formulate a plan to ensure their concerns were heard at the County level. Being fully aware of the need to prioritize, the Association feels like clear and full communication is a matter of safe= ty and deserves the highest priority. <o:p>&n= bsp;</o:p> &= nbsp; &nbs= p; &= nbsp; Members discussed the tag machine that is currently owned is in need of replacement. There was much discussion regarding the cost of a new machine, in excess of $600 was mentioned. Jeff Jones reported Sherman was considering the purchas= e of a machine. He suggested if the Association covered materials, the tags coul= d be made on the Sherman machine. This item will be placed on the agenda at the = next meeting for discussion. <o:p>&n= bsp;</o:p> &= nbsp; &nbs= p; &= nbsp; Associated with the discussion of new tag machine, members discussed the amount of ann= ual dues. Donnie Glenn said $25 a year was not enough to accomplish some of the tasks needed. Others mentioned the departments that had not paid their dues should do so and that would impact finances as well. A motion was made to increase annual dues to $100 and members approved the motion. &nb= sp; = &nb= sp; <o:p> </o:p> Announc= ements &= nbsp; Allen Vols was thanked for all his good work during his Members discussed the pros and cons of the burn ban and previous experience when the ban was requested. After considerable discussion, members recommen= ded a ban be placed on the agenda for the County Commissioners consideration. Members reflected on discussions from the last meeting by the Judge and County Emergency Manager= and the County’s priorities. Specifically, the fact that the departments = can be dispatched is a priority and the other issues will have to be addressed = at a later date. Rob Crow reported he had been told a repeater in the Gordonville area was being moved to the Whitewright area. Members were not aware of the planned move and were concerned other problems may be created. After much discussion, the members agreed to formulate a plan to ensure their concerns were heard at the County level. Being fully aware of the need to prioritize, the Association feels like clear and full communication is a matter of safe= ty and deserves the highest priority. <o:p>&n= bsp;</o:p> &= nbsp; &nbs= p; &= nbsp; Members discussed the tag machine that is currently owned is in need of replacement. There was much discussion regarding the cost of a new machine, in excess of $600 was mentioned. Jeff Jones reported Sherman was considering the purchas= e of a machine. He suggested if the Association covered materials, the tags coul= d be made on the Sherman machine. Donnie Glenn said $25 a year was not enough to accomplish some of the tasks needed. Others mentioned the departments that had not paid their dues should do so and that would impact finances as well.
